Works exactly as advertised, but even better than expected. I purchased this with confidence as I know several brewery owners that use CoolBots. The biggest thing to keep in mind is this device is just a part of what you need to make an inexpensive cooler. You have to follow their directions and build your cooler correctly. The website, is chocked full of helpful information about building a cooler. It's very thorough and walks you through everything you will need to do. I used this for an ambulance I converted into a mobile cooler. I strictly followed the instructions on insulating and air conditioner selection. I'm pleased it works better than I thought it would. My cooler chills much quicker than I expected, even with it being in the nineties outside and humid, and recovers as quickly as my larger commercial indoor cooler. It dropped from 92 to 40 in a little under 3 hours. I haven't even installed a strip curtain yet. In testing, I even held it much colder than I need with no problems. As for the reviewers saying this is overpriced or something you could just make yourself, I disagree. The fin sensor that detects freezing and allows the air conditioner to defrost is what makes this thing so effective and more sophisticated than anything I could build myself.

I don't know how to start this rave review but i'll try. Ron (The inventor) has created one of the best inventions I've seen in a long time. He has been very helpful with my emails with questions I had and he's guided me the right direction and has given me the best advise and cautions.
I've asked for a quote from a local A/C guy to build me a 10 by 12 walk in cooler and I got the quote of $16,000.00 !!! And he's a husband of a friend too to add insult to injury. SOME discount huh! He tried pushing everything from a brand new condenser brand new cooler panels, walls and brand new door, using the "up-sell up-sell up-sell" "you need this, you need that" pitch with me. I ended up building one myself using Lowe's and Home Depot straight off the shelf foam insulation items, 2 x 4's, drywall, 2 inch foam sheet and a well insulated door, AND the Haier window AC unit, and I did it all for $1600 !! 1/10th of that quote!!! It has been by far the best middle finger I could give any A/C contractor. I've did everything up to code and had a licensed electrician hook it all up for me. Everything's all check out fine. The Coolbot has been the best thing I've purchased in a long long time. It's been running for a little over 3 months now and NOT a single problem has arisen. Thanks SO much Ron!!! Great job!!!

Does the CoolBot run down to 32°F without freezing?
Yes! CoolBots can be set to a target temperature of 32°F (0°C), but most customers use them in the 38°F – 40°F (3.3°-4.4°C) range, which is the ideal temperature for most veggies, meats, and prepared foods (fridges are typically set at 38°F (3.3°C)).

Most customers with an R-25 insulated cooler hit 36°F without any issues. Customers getting their coolers below 36°F (2.2°C) have the best-insulated coolers (with insulated floors), open their cooler doors less frequently, and almost always oversize their A/Cs relative to our recommendations.
